Hey everyone
I am getting my son a new computer for Christmas. I am able to build a computer or buy one. He is a gamer with such games as Minecraft, Skyrim, Elder Scrolls. He makes video recording of his minecraft builds and posts them. He needs a solid system but not a NASA computer. budget I would like to stay below 1100.00

My wife also needs a new system for her work at home office. she does
mostly word processing but does a lot with large spread sheets and has many video conference calls. budget below 1100 as well

Thanks

These builds here could very well go both ways. Your wife won't exactly need a dedicated GPU so I went with an integrated graphics system.

You can very well swap the cases... These builds just throw the most power for the money (in my opinion), the processor on the work build is more power then what she'll need but will support a video call on one screen and spreadsheets on the another.

Thanks for the quick reply's I was wondering about the voltage warning on the build for my son and I was also wondering if these are all the parts needed to create a fully functioning system aside from monitor and the related power cords and peripherals. In addition is the case i chose will it work with these components or will some of the parts limit which case I can choose.

What ninja posted is perfect. The voltage thing is a non-issue. It will be fine.

As far as the case is concerned all you really have to worry about is clearance for your video card. Find the length of the video card and then find the max supported video card length by the case. For example that 970 is 11 inches long. Find something that can fit that.

You'll either have enough motherboard connections for fans or they'll have a Molex connection which goes right in to your power supply. If you don't have enough for whatever reason, you can buy some adapters, but I wouldn't buy any until you've already built it.
