HELP! - annoying window fade

After a minute or so of no mouse movement e.g. solid typing, The bar at the top of the window i am working in goes pale, like when you click something else and the original window stays but is faded. It is a real problem because i could be typing and it goes pale as if i had clicked away and so any typing i had done since had not appeared.

Does anybody know why this happens and is i can fix it?

There are several things that could cause this. One of the first advices to give here would be a use of a few antivirus and other types of malware removers to see if the system "caught a bug" of some type that needs to be removed. You could have something running in the background like another installed program causing a conflict of some type. The third possible cause to mention would a Windows related problem. What type of window are you typing in? A text editor of some type or a web page?
