help boot up errors

can anyone help me...my pc works fine its just wen i boot up i get an error code evry time; CMOS settings wrong, CMOS date/time not set
f1 to run set up
f2 to load default values and continue

if i go to set up and manually change the date, save & exit it boots to the windows just fine (but very time i restart i get the same error message)
if i press f2 then it boots to the windows just fine but w/ jan 2002 as the date...
can anyone help me solve this problem...

You may need to replace the cell battery on the motherboard. as this could be flat. that is the only thing i can think of.

Also sounds to me like you need a new battery for your motherboard.
