first off im new to the forum. i also new to building computers. i am not new to computer hardware tho. i have gone through a bunch of stuff and i want to know if the hardware i choose are all compatible or if anything should be changed or if im missing anything.

i plan to use windows vista or windows 7 if its out by the time im finished (i have a friend at microsoft). i will be using the computer for games(whatever i can throw at it), flash animations, AutoCAD, video editing, pretty much everything.

I havent bought anything yet but plan to have most of the components within a month or two.

there is one of their store right near my house so its where i spent alot of time looking. thanx in advance for any help.

Everything you chose is compatible, but you've got to be kidding with that 9600 GT graphics card...

Why in the world would you put that crap card on a P55 Classified
motherboard?

I don't think that board will run Crossfire, so I would stick with an nVidia card,
and with this budget, I would put no less than a GTS 250.

That board will run x16/x16 but any more cards will drop it.

It makes no sense to me to pay this much for a motherboard and be limited to Dual Channel DDR3.

honestly i wasnt really looking at the prices all that much i just made sure they were reasonable for my budjet. so maybe ill look again and find some things at better prices.

i was just looking at the EVGA X58 SLI LE Motherboard
and it turns out it has a built-in 7.1 sound, so could i just use that and not get a seperate sound card?

Yes, integrated sound cards are perfectly fine and suit anything unless you do studio qaulity audio recording or something like that.

ok so this is the final list of components

i asked my friend what he thought of my setup and he kinda crapped all over it like he always does but he made some valid points. so i got worried about the cooling and weather i should get 2 video cards or not so i looked around some more and this is what i came up with.
