Help! Character recognization

Hi everyone,

I have taken some photo of a book because I had to return to my university's library. Unfortunately, the photo I took are not bright. The corners of these pictures are very dark. I would like to change the brightness of these pictures. Moreover, I need a software to recognize characters in the picture so that I can make a MS Word file.
Please help me if someone know a software to change the brightness and recognizing characters.

Thanks, you reply me very fast.
I tried it. It performed badly. It needed user to correct the errors and it generated a lot of errors.
Is there other powerfull software?
