Help choosing laptop for music production

Looking for a laptop to run FL studio, trying to stay under $700. I've have been doing some research but there is are so many different versions of processors I'm getting overwhelmed.

Would an i5-4200m, 8gb ram, 1 TB HD, windows 7 be ok for this? Should I stay away from the processors with U at the end? Dual core or go ahead and get an i7 quad?

The music production is just a hobby and laptop would be used for FL and Internet. I only have a little knowledge of computers and I have never bought a laptop. I just want something that is mid ranged and will get good use out of it, don't want top of the line. Thanks.

Forgot to mention this

Soundcard with DirectSound drivers. ASIO/ASIO2 compatible required for audio recording (FL Studio installs with generic ASIO4ALL drivers)

All the laptops I have looked do not mention anything about this, how can tell if it has this?

I have been looking at dell, lenovo, acer, and asus. HP have some in my price range but I always heard to stay away from HP not sure if that still holds.

I run FL11, Audacity and Verbose perfectly fine on my 9 year old Lat. You certainly don't "need" a $700 machine to produce music my friend.

Save the money, lower your budget expectations, and use the excess to buy yourself a nice MIDI controller or condenser microphone to go along with your setup. :)
