alright i have a ASUS A8N-SLI Premium with a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 2.2GHz...

i installed anohter stick of 512 to run in dual chanel mode @ 1gig, both sticks of ram the same kind. i tested both sticks in another system and they both work... after installing that my computer does not boot.. i hit the power button and it powers on the computer but thats as far as i get, no post, no beeps, black screen.... nothing. what broke? motherboard or processor!? this system is not overclocked, and is only a month old, its a fresh build! im very mad  please help

ok, try booting with only the new stick, and then only the old stick...Does it go to first bios screen? check if you accidentally unplugged something (pci-e cord perhaps?) while installing the ram. If it works both times with only one stick in, it's probably your power supply, which i doubt because ram doesn't take too much power...If it boots with only your old stick of ram, you have faulty ram, go return/exchange the new stick.

i tested both of the sticks they work.. i took the new one out and left the old one in there and it does the same thing.. what i dont understand is why i dont hear a beep? normally if i dont have any ram in a comp it would start beeping.. this does nothing...

wow IM AN IDIOT OMG!!!!

here listen i didnt mention i installed a new hard drive as well.. and my case has those easy clip on screwless sliders.. the metal slider sliced my processing led that goes from the mobo to the case and it messing the whole thing up... so i took the hard drive out and i saw the wires were sliced open a little but it still works i was in a hurry and just threw the HD in there.. i was going crazy thinking something broke... wow
