my computer failed to start on friday it uses a 40g ssd for os and a 1 tb hdd for games steam etc now we had to reboot the computer to get it working but now instead of 23 sec to start up it takes about 5 mins also when turning of it takes 10 mins. it noticed my steam would not work when we got it back on so tried a few things and ended up un installing steam and reinstalling steam to my ssd installed a small game to my ssd and now it works. when i load up my 1 tb in my computer it takes about 3 mins to load up seems alright but i have tried to run a diagnostic to see if anything wrong with my 1 tb hdd it just says cannot perform scan as thought it not there i have noticed a few files on my ssd are now translucent but seems to work my ssd. sorry about all the writing is my hdd dying please help

Sounds like your 1tb drive may be failing on you. What brand of drive is it? If you unplug the drive does the everything else work normally?

its a weston digital cavier blue 1tb i unplugged it and the computer would not run it just says insert windows cd but my os is on the ssd which seems fine?

Because when you installed windows you had your hdd plugged in and the boot files are on that drive. You should be able to use the install cd to repair the OS without the hdd attached.
