Help creating a wireless home network

Hi Guys,

This is my first post in this forum so I hope that I can interact with as many of you as possible.

I need a little help creating a wireless network before my main desktop PC running Windows XP and my netbook running Windows 7. They are both connected to my Virgin Media wireless router yet I just cant seem to get them to see each of so that file sharing and other "good stuff" can be done. Hopefully networking between Win 7 & XP is possible and perhaps I am missing something fairly simple ?

Does anyone have any possible suggestions or tips to help me achieve file sharing ?

looks like I have solved the problem, cant believe it was something as simple as the worksgroups needing to match - its bloody obvious when you think about it :-) clearly not one of my finest moments.
