Help! Did my Laptop just die?

I have a new laptop (1month old) It's an Acer..

I was operating it onthe battery. I think it ran out and then it said it was going to "HIBERNATE" and then it shut off

I then connected it to the adapter and turned it on. It's on but the screen is black?

What happened? I dont know what to do, help please? please

try fideling with the power button like tapping it once or holding it down for about 6 seconds

You could try removing the battery and reinserting it.

maybe have the AC adapter plugged in, then wait a little while then turn it on? i dont think that'll do anything though.

ive seen this before. try this

let it sit plugged in for a while then try to start it
if that dosent work then open and close the screen a few times and see if that works
