HELP! Domain Name

hi im thinking of making my own forum using http://www.proboards.com/index.html

but my forum web address whould have proboards in it, but i have heard that if you buy a domain name i could change it.

abit like you can change a freewebs address with .tk

is this true and if so how do i do this?

I'm not really sure what you meant, but it seems like Proboards is a site that uses their own forum software and hosts it on their site. If you want to get your own domain name, you would have to get our own forum software. Some of the more popular programs are phpBB and vBulletin (like this site).
