This is a cross-post, I originally posted to laptops. And am ideally looking for laptop that will support two external monitors, NOT including the laptop screen. I'm giving up at this point. My price range I'm trying to stay under $500, but can go $600 max. I don't need anything special, I use it for school, some R, Python, SQL, nothing major, the worse thing is I get doing a lot of things at once, a ton of tabs open, only streaming is mainly YouTube.
Shopping for a new laptop, and not much better looking for desktops, no matter where I look, manufacturers website, sh*thole Amazon, Wal Marts website...none of the specs are ever detailed enough to answer if it will support two external video output connections. My understanding, whether regular USB or USB-C, there are many standards and most DO NOT natively support video. I always get yes it does because it has HDMI and a USB port. USB-HDMI converters, hubs, repeaters, will NOT work. The graphics card HAS TO support a 2nd video display, end of story.
I'm beyond frustrated how difficult this has been. All the gamers, day traders, etc. out there, I thought everyone is running 2, 3, 5 monitors extended at the same time. IDK, maybe it's not so complicated if I could go up to $1k or more for a system. I am trying to stay cheap, is this just something that is not supported on lower-end PCs and Laptops. Even, drilling through card manufacturer sites specs I still can't seem to get a straight answer. Like I said, I thought this was a common thing. What am I missing here?
Any, suggestions, corrections, etc. appreciated!
