Help For A Noob!!!

i've been trying to fix my girlfriends computer for ages and nothing seems to be working, i need some serious help. she has a dell running windows xp and the problem is that everytime she is one the internet she gets pop-ups every 5 min. say that it is from microsoft and refers me to different registry cleaners. This happens every time she gets on the internet, also everyonce once in a while a computer error comes up and and counts down from 1 min until the computer shuts off. I've already reinstalled the OS but it still keeps on happening. I need some help PLEASE:confused: Thanks:D

i recomend downloading hijack this anyways...google it or w/e then once its downloaded itll be self explanatory...all u have to do is post on this forum a log of what the hijack program came up with and someone will surely help:D
