Help!! Freaky Computer

Hi PC community. Earlier today, I heard the sound of a incoming skype call and I thought I better answer it but I realised that skype wasnt open in the taskbar or even the task manager. Eventually the call sounded as if it was "dropped" but later this evening the same thing happened again. What is going on!!

i suppose skype could still be an open process and not show up in the applications tab or the taskbar, but i doubt it.
