help getting laptop for school

Help buying a dell

I'm looking at buying a dell laptop here are a couple of the computers im looking at:

what are your thoughts on these computers or getting a computer from Dell in general, is there any other name brands i should look at? If you have any other good recommendations for places to look at feel free to tell me. Im looking for a price range between $1000-1500(CAN) and can play media well. Thanx, any help is appreciated.

second one looks good to me, if its just something for school to play a bit of media and do some work on then you will be more than ahppy.

Dell are reliable and pretty good for what you get so i see no problems with your choice

Dell are good, especially for students.

I honestly don't know where you've heard that. I've not heard of one single college that requires the use of a Mactop.

ldevos, if you're just looking for a solid overall computer, look into the Dell D620, it's a Small Business model.
