My motherboard is totaly deaded!
long story short it started to die i took it to an evil terrorist to fix and he finished the job off! :( had to get the police involved to get the laptop back in the end. but anyway now i have it back and obviously it's still knackered! :(
So my question is
1. does anybody know where i could get an Acer Aspire 5602 mother board? (none on ebay at the mo)
or
2. are their any other options i could go with after market parts type thing?
thanks for any help, id also like to know how easy is it transfering data from a hard drive on a dead laptop. i think i have the cabel to do so that one should be ok.

Its an acer laptop... Just go spend another $200 on a new one. The motherboard would be more expensive than buying a whole new system.
 
it's a pretty decent acer. (if such a thing exsists) cost me 750 quid, and ive looked around can't find anything as good for a sensible price.

Your not going to find a mobo for it, just find someone on ebay or something selling the same model and pick it up for cheap.

EDIT: And to answer your question, you could buy another Acer laptop and simply drop the HDD from your old one into the new one and keep all your files. You could sell the other hard drive on eBay or something, whatever you want to do with it.

Good for you I see such comments daily to a few Muslim co-workers. Lets face it when you say Terrorists 90% of the population think it.
His comment warranted the question. I didn't point him out and harass I simply asked. Racism isn't allowed on this forum.

When I hear 'terrorist' I think of the unibomber or the columbine shootings or the kkk long before I think of muslims or september 11th. Probably because those things made an impression on me at a younger age than anything else. Not calling you out or anything twist, your entitled to your opinions just as everyone else, but I think its a little hasty to assume you understand what people think when they hear that word. It means something different to all of us...

Hold on a minute, you're the only one here making the connection between Muslims and terrorism.

When I think of terrorism I think of the IRA. And in any case, since when are you allowed to dictate what people think?
 
erm..... i was kinda hoping people would focus more on the broken laptop part of my post :(
