I have just put a new PM2MP Micro atx Mach Speed Mobo in my lightning damaged Dell computer with XP o.s. For some reason now, when i start it up and get this screen...

Then, no matter which way i start windows, i get this screen.....

The only things i have changed is the MoBo and the power supply. The only thing i can think of is that this mobo made for 266 speed ram, and i have PC 2700 installed in it. There is a warning in the mobo manual about using anything other than 266 ram will cause timing issues, and cause windows not to boot. I thought, by reading RAM 101, that anything over 266 speed ram would work, and that it would automaticaly clock down to what the mobo could handle, is this not correct?

Could there is something else causing this issue with the new mobo?, like XP issues with the new MoBo or power supply?

Help?, Anyone?

Thanks

did you uninstall drivers of the previous mobo, i don't know if u can uninstall yours cuz i couldn't mine, i had to install windows again and it was fine, the error appears cuz it can't load the proper drivers of the mobo, well i think it is that way cuz it solved my problem

if your mobo supports up to 266ddr and you have 333ddr=pc2700 then your mobo will reduce the speed of your ram to the speed which your mobo supports max

1. Could be a boot sector virus (doubtful)
2. Incorrect driver information for windows to boot off of (most likely)

Re-install windows and you should be ok. You can do a full re-install or just a repair install, either one will work, one just deletes all your info (full re-install).
