Help i bought a laptop for my mum but it doesnt have a floppy drive

You could search ebay for one made for that laptop, but the easiest thing would be to just get an external USB drive. They typically aren't that expensive.

Yeah but my mum said it must be internal.
Ill have to return it if i cant get an internal one.
It needs to be portable, no drives hanging out of the USB port.
Must be internal, i always thought that laptops automaticly came with internal floppy drives :(

I can tell by the picture that one obviously doesn't. I don't know if the CD-ROM is removable and could be replaced with a floppy drive or not, but they are far from "automatic" in laptops. One that age, I am slightly suprised it doesn't have one, but no(or almost no) laptops even have a floppy option anymore.

your gonna cause yourself such a hassle trying to switch out a cdrom, to a floppy. if she doesnt want an external one id say return it if you can..... i thought everyone needed a CD rom though, how else are you gonna install software convienently

Once a computer is setup, leaving a floppy in place of a CD-ROM(if it has that option) wouldn't be a problem for many people. I know I hardly ever use my optical drive. I left it out once when repairing my laptop. I don't think I've even used it since I reinstalled it...

I'd return it and see if you can get a better deal somewhere else with a floppy drive, I know I use my optical drive an awfull lot...
