If you can scan it using AVG, do it. The reason why malwarebytes won't run is that you are infected with something that stops most malware programs from running. You might have to take that hard drive out and put it in another system and scan it using AVG. Once it deletes the offending files then put it back in your system and install and run Malwarebytes. Follow the instructions here if you can get malwarebytes to run properly.

It froze because it must not have liked a certain infection that is on your computer. Did you run the quick scan or full scan? Make sure you delete all your temporary internet files first before scanning with malwarebytes. How many users are on this computer? If there are more than one go into each user and delete the temporary internet files as well.

Like i said before, you most likely might have to put your hard drive into another system and scan it that way.

i ran a full scan. there is only 1 user. k i'll delete the stuff in my temporary files folder, I can just use the disk cleanup in the accesories on windows right ?

Yeah, but just verify that they are gone. If not, go into internet options in IE and delete them.

k, i'm deleting the temporary files right now via disk cleanup. then i'll run a full system scan in malwaryebytes. there was nothing in the temporary files folder, only the temporary internet files folder. im running the malwarebytes scan again, maybe it wont freeze @ 33 min. also what other scans should i do? because i have turned on my computer after my Blue screen of death, and i still got THREAT alerts.

Have you ran a full virus scan to where it finishes? Malwarebytes should catch a lot of your problems. If not there is another program to try. If you get everything to run and finish I need the malwarebytes log and a hijackthis log and an update on how the computer is running.

a full virus scan to where it finishes? what?!?!! what is a hijackthis log? how do i get the malwarebytes log? malwarebytes finished and found 2 things 1 trojan and something else. tell me how to get u the malwarebytes and i gladly will. also i was thinking shulkd i un-install AVG in safe mode and install some kind of virus program like AVAST or AVIRA? and then run a virus scan with that? (in safe mode)

After malwarebytes finished scanning a .txt file would have popped up with the scan results.

k btw i dont think malwarebytes fixed, it after i did that scan in safe mode i un-installed AVG and then i had to restart my comp for complete un-install, i did that, then booted into safe mode again with networking, and then i downloaded avira antivirus program. then for some reason i shut down my computer again, (forgot why) then booted back into windows (vista 32bit) and i tried to update my avira antivurs program, and it says it cannot conncect to the internet?!?! it says im connected on my computer, i tried going on AIM, and it cant connect, i also tried going to google via mozilla firefox, and nothing!. !??!?! whats going on how come i cant update my avira antivirus, i was gona update it and then do a full system scan!!! PLEASE HELP

k so what i did was run malwarebytes but i dont think it helped. then what i did is uninstall avg in safe mode, then restart boot into safe mode. then i went to firefox and it brought me to google. then when i tried to search or go to any other site it wouldnt let me, there would just be a BLANK white page. on the bottom left corner of firefox it would say "done" like it was done loading. so what i had to do was download avira antivurs on this laptop and then put it on a usb drive and install it on my desktop (with the virus) I ran a full scan and it says there is nothing but i have a feeling this is because i havent updated it. I cant update it tho cause when i try to it says "cannot connec to server" EVEN tho it says connected on my desktop.....
