Help I'm A Noob!!! Well Sorta

Holy crap... now that is a motherboard.

13 x SATA?
2 x Socket F?
2 x PCI-E x16?
2 x PCI-E x8?

Who needs all that?

yup thats right, you'll need windows XP pro instead of home edition and you'll be able to utilise a dual CPU setup. Its been used for a while for dual Xeon and opteron server based systems so no reason why it shouldnt be ok with that setup. I'm sure someone else will confirm.

You might find some settings need to be changed in XP to ensure its utilising it to full potential.

The confusion that some might be having is in that the license for windows XP might say its for 1CPU, that to say its only licensed for use on one computer.

So make sure its XP pro and not XP home

XP Home can only support one processor, so you would need XP Pro or MCE I believe. As for RAM, you need a 64-bit OS to access over 4GB (~3GB) of RAM.
