HELP!!! im new!

i need someone who can tell me straight up whats going on, ok gateway gt5228, new hard drive but it freezes at the first gateway screen and fan sounds like its shutting down. but it doesnt it just slows down and the keyboard doesnt work so i cant do anything from there, if anyone knows anything an can help me quick it would be awesome i just got this computer and i have no idea what to do for once. thanks guys

First off is this computer new? You say that you just got it so just asking. Secondly, make sure all your cables and connections are plugged in properly (i.e. your mouse and keyboard). Try booting up and see what you get.

no its not new used but like new, ill try moving stuff around to try. thank ill update tomorrow if anything goes wrong, thanks for helping. im usually good but always good to get help
