Help in creating a server backup

I have a few old computers in my basement at home that I turn into a server for my website http://snooples.com. I backup my data onto an external hard drive.

My question: is this enough in turns of backup?

I prefer offsite backups because if something (electric/fire/flood) happens to the copmuter it may happen to the external as well. I use Mozy and it's like $5 a month. It all depends on you whether or not it will be enough back up.

I would create another backup method for redudancy, backing up to an external device is great but don't forget that hard drivers (general consumer ones) can be quite unreliable. I would back up to an offsite location (with an online backup service) or invest in a very cheap tape drive and backup to tape (ultrium 2 or 3)

it really depends how much data u got and how valuable it is to you.

if it's not a lot, or if your data doesn't change often, save it to a dvd and store that in a secure place, like at bank deposit box.

i have a old box with a 1tb share where i dump files from all my computers. then i use a external drive to back him up. i find that's enough work for me. if there's a fire or flood, i wouldn't be worried about that stuff, i would be more concerned with GingTFO,
