So i just got my new computer...
AMD X2 4200+
7800gt
1 gig RAM
535 watt psu
OS - Windows XP Home SP2

anyways...I installed HL2 with no problem and Doom, but when I try to install age of empires III or FarCry, about half way through the installation process I get this error 1305. I searched it on google and i have the newest install shield and everything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Did you download it, or on cd.

If download it my be a fulty download.

If on cd maybe damaged

or you do not have the right requirement for the games, other than that it should run. What operation window's you have?

He posted his OS already...

I had some trouble installing games like GTA Vice City when I still had Win98SE. Vice City uses InstallShield for installation. Maybe you have to delete the Install Shield registry entry and install the latest version after that? Just a thought.

EDIT:
Found this link, check it out

Hope this helps.

thanks for the link. I found the same one and tried everything it told me to do. No I didn't download it its from a disk. It is brand new. Nothing is worng with the disk. I have also tried updating my firmware. Tried it in safe mode. I lso tried copying the files to the C drive and downlaoding it off of that but once it gets to a certain file I get this cyclic error, but I guess that cyclic error happens to everyone with farcry...Any other ideas?

So I just removed the windows installer service to try and download the newest version. Does anyone have a link to the newest version because I am a little confused about which one is the newest. Sorry but thanks.

thanks, still didn't help though. So for AOE III it worked when I copied it to the hardrive and ran it off that but when I tried doing it for FarCry while I was copying it from the disk to the harddrive I got this cyclic error when it was trying to copy one of the files. Any other suggestions or help would be great. Thanks.

Well i had the same problem with 2 games. HL2 and FFXI. All the Cd's where perfect with not a scratch on them. i get errors when installing them every time i try and install them. still cant use them to this day. My brother in law has the same Cd's and i used them and they worked perfect. So you might want to get your receipt and exchange it for a new copy, you could have a bad CD.

yeah thats what I am starting to think. I just got real nervous because I tried installing two games one right after the other and both wouldnt work. I thought something was wrong with the computer. Thanks for all the help everyone.

A CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error is almost always a problem with the CD itself. Can you return it for a replacement?
