Hi i dont know if someone might be hacking my network but listen to this.
Right, i was on my desktop computer in my room and everything was fine. My dad comes home and he goes on the computer in my sisters room , he put his USB memory stick/pen drive into the pc in my sisters room and then a message appeared on my computer saying something like a IP CONFLICT and that someone else is using our ip or something on a different machine?? - when my dad connects to our wireless router, nothing says about the network conflict!
I didnt get chance to read it because it came in the right hand side of my desktop and went in like 4-5 seconds.

I done a scan on my DADS USB Memory pen and it detected one trojan.dropper and automatically deleted/removed it from his pen.

Is my network secure?
i have Norton Internet Security 2008 with a 3 YEAR MEMBERSHIP.
Windows Firewall is enabled
No remote desktop control allowed to be sent to my computer .

Is it ok?
- i seriously do not want anyone hacking my computer or internet connection.

p.s. my wireless router is locked with a WPA network key.

Many thanks.

IP conflict doesn't mean that someone is hacking your network. If your antivirus program cleaned the virus and all your protection software is enabled and up-to-date you should be safe.

ok so i should be safe then :D
thanks.

by the way, what does ip conflict mean then?

Basically two computers on a local network have been assigned the same IP address. Check your settings.

should be fine if you have a wireless network make sure you are using security on it and changing passwords frequently

Some times, Rebooting the router and computer can resolve the ip conflict issue. The router will resign the ip address to the computer... Also Norton.. ehhh.....
