Help Me Buy A Computer

I'm going to buy a new computer today at either fry's or best buy ( I know they are probably overpriced there but I need a computer ASAP so price doesn't matter). Can someone recommend the specs I should look for at either store. The computer is going to be primarily used for playing World of Warcraft so I don't think I need the "Best" setup.

Processor:?
OS:?
HD:?
RAM:?
GPU:?

Thanks!

What is your budget?

Thanks

Alright thanks I will write the info down and bring it with me.

RAM:4GB
HD:7200RPM

Budget: Below $1,200

Ok

I'm quite aware that building a computer would be the best option, however I don't have the time nor the knowledge on how to build one. I just simply know what specs to look for for a "decent" computer. I'm pretty sure that I could get a computer capable of playing WoW for under $1,200. I just want to know what specs I should look for while at fry's or best buy.

I doesn't take that much time, it only took me about 2 hours on my first build (and it took like 30 minutes to figure out that the 24 pin power connector wasn't connected properly :P)

Time- ~1-2hrs at most
Knowledge- Can you use a philips screwdriver and a pair of needlenose pliers? Thats basically the two tools needed as we can help you with a components list.

Really as far as gaming computers are concerned you cant get a whole lot from a best buy or frys.

Where do I get parts?

If I was to build the computer, would I buy the parts at Fry's or Bestbuy?

I need the computer today and I don't really want to use Newegg and wait to have it delivered.

Windows 7 would released in 2 weeks time. If you can't wait get Vista Premium...
5850 is out of stock. This would be the best card for your budget. If you are really that urgent, get a 4890 instead.

Since you don't want a custom build, here is what I recommend.
OS:Vista
HDD: 500GB-1TB
RAM: 4gb-8gb
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4350 or equivalent
CPU: high-end Phenom or core2 quad

That is what I recommend, simply because if they don't have those specs the video card is going to suck. You're looking at 900-1100 Canadian so... 700 to 1000 American. Anything within that spec range should do the job. I don't recommend spending less than 800 dollars.

Ok

Alright thanks a lot, yeah I figured it would be around $800.

Do you recommend Nvidia or ATI Radeon for the graphics card?
