looks like a dell inspirion :D building? customizing you mean.

PREPARE FOR A LOOOONGG WAIT ( 2-3 weeks ) :)
 
I would get the Home Premium or Ultimate because a comparison I saw excluded features that might appeal for entertainment on the Business Edition (. Also, save your money and don't get the Audigy software because all it is is software mixing, which, otherwise, will take up precious resources. Watch out for glossy with the screen because you're going to enter a world full of glare.

As for the deliver time, I had just recently tlaked with my friend who worked at Acer and he said they give long shipment dates because they then use the time to finish more important projects, (say a company mass ordering). In reality, it doesn't take over two weeks to build or even order parts for a laptop. He suggested that you call them after about a week and complain about the slow service, describe that your company won't purchase from them if they don't hurry up (obviously lying), threaten to cancel your order, and give them a set date you need the laptop at. He said he has tried this with various other companies and was able to get the system much sooner than expected.

Edit: I think I might have wanted to order my lappy later to save some money and get more options. I'm curious what the Creative Labs Express Sound Card is; if it's the one I'm been seeing on the Creative website that seems to be only sold in Europe and Asia.........

the color inspirons are running of a shorten in certain colors so if you chose one of those colors it'll cause the shipment to delay another week.
 
Haha thanks kof2000 i did mean customizing.. however i also meant to link a list of components im thinking of ordering and building, so as to compare.

After looking at the cost, it would be cheaper for me to just customize a dell than to build my own ^^ Although i was looking forward to starting with an asus shell and working my way out : P

And as for the burner drive, i didnt quite notice that when customizing so thanks for that as well : )

Actually kof2000, how did you go about building your laptop, as in where did you order?
I would rather have an asus build than a dell, because they seem easier to upgrade..

Just complain about the delay and they'll 'expedite' your order and upgrade your order to 'next day' shipping......
