Help me find a good laptop.

Hi there, mind helping me? I have a crappy out of date computer, and so I am going to be getting a laptop that is good for gaming, with a decently large screen, and most importantly reliable so it won't wear down quickly. I don't need the absolute latest graphics, but I would like to run, say, starcraft 2 on high settings. I have a lot of money to spend for this, but of course saving money is always a plus.

This seems great to me, but upon googling it, it seems a lot of people are having problems with the hinge....any advice is appreciated, thanks a bunch. I do understand a desktop is superior for gaming, but I need a laptop to bring to college back and forth. Thank you so much.

That 11 inch Alienware will not be able to play games that well with the base model. You will have to get it fully loaded which will cost you over $1,000. Take a look at this HP...my wife has the dv6 and it is a very nice laptop. I was actually very surprised with the build quality. It will cost you a little over $1,000 but you'll get so much more than the small little Alienware.

17" screen with a metal body
Core i7 quad processor
ATI 6570 graphics
6GB DDR3 RAM is standard

im looking for a laptop right now also. basicly to play starcraft on high or even anything decent settings you have get one of the larger 15.6in or bigger laptops with a gtx460 graphics card.

only thing about getting one of these that i REALLY REALLY HATE is that the battery life is all HORRIBLE ! most only last 1-2 hours. also these laptops are a little bulkier than others, with is a deterrence for me but might not bother you.

so its a give take situation, to play starcraft 2 on good setting you need a larger laptop with horrible battery life. or you could get a laptop that is more portable with a gt310 or gt425 and you could play starcraft on low setting but have great battery and a more portable laptop.

Actually thats a pretty good size, I don't want something small, since I will be gaming. Those look pretty good, thank you. Are they reliable? Because I don't want to have to go buy another one in a few years.

Hmmm, I see. Well I will probably just be going online/word processing without charging. When I'm gaming, I'll probably be at home and charging the battery.
