help me make a pc

i am not a super computer guy and dont really need an amazing awsome one but i want something good i want to spend around a 1000 on it with out the monitor i just plain on useing a big tv for it eventually i heard you could do that. my problem is i dont know whats good and whats not. so i was wondering if someone would help me find good things to get i was thinking quad core and maybe like 4 gigs of memory i dunno what i really need =p um something im going to use it for is gaming but not the super games only mmos like warcraft
