oh the wrath of norton ghost, its not the greatest software in the world. One of two things has happened, either nortong host got it all wrong and formatted your orther partitions, or the iamge that nortoon ghost had preserved for you was extremely outdated, back to a time when perhaps you didnt have that data or didnt have those partitions.

The best thign you can do is not touch the drive at all, dont turn it on, dont turn it off, take t to a professional data recovery firm, they can almsot 100% get it back for you, its just a matter of cost.... it seems quite important this work, so it may be worth the cost... i dont know

it's worth any cost
i'll pay all i have
but i just wanna get the data back
what if it was overwritten ??????

It doesn't matter if it's overwritten. It's all recoverable. Put the HDD in another computer and use Stellar Phoenix on it. It will recover everything for you.

is this the strongest recovery utility ?
i need to recover the data 100%
because they are large txt files and project files
if one is ruined then a whole project might be ruined
and also
i wanna know if you tried it
please help me people ... i'm in the worst day i could be

EDIT:
i found this
http://data-recovery-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
is this a good source ?
should i trust these results ?

But if it does go wrong.... for any reason, it wil lbe a good chance you screw it up even further, if i were you and your willing to pay, take it to aprofessional data recovery specialist company, dont download software, phsyically give them your drive and pay through the nose for it, cost a bit, yes, but garunteed to get everything back with no failure whatsoever, yes... I have no quibbles using software to recover some pics i accidentally delteed, but this stuff sounds extremely high class and EXTREMEL important, why risk it if your willing to pay. DO IT PROPERLY

Exaclty, you do NOT want to do it yourself. I've seen friends loose loads of junk from trying to recover their data, and they are left with no choice but to reformat. It rarely works.

The only way you can do that is if you recover data to the same drive. However, you are warned very clearly if you try it. It is quite foolproof actually. Even if you do try it, generally the space required for recovery is far more than the drive actually provides, so you have to recover to a seperate harddrive. I have used it with great success.

i can pay
but i dont know any places here !!!!

yes i will recover to another HDD

lol i had norton system works on my drive awhile ago, it protected all my drives so that when i reformatted C: it wouldn't let me see any data (yes, it was installed on C: and protected D: even after i had reformatted C: ) it was pretty much useless and i had to reformat my D:... lost all the info. i dont know, this stellar phoenix may work though... try it.

Maybe so, bt would you really entrust all of your project onto this method.... when it is obviously extrememly important.... Why even edge onto the REMOTE risk of it going wrong, why tempt fate, why? If hes willing to pay jsut go to profressional data recovery specialists and get them to do it. At least then it would be 100% certain to work fully, with ABSOLUTELY no fail rate

I trusted it. I had some pictures (never mind, but they were irreplacable) that were lost on that drive. I gave it a shot, because they weren't backed up. It worked beautifully. In fact, it was showing the last three times the drive was partitioned and formatted. Wow, I was impressed.

The website has a tutorial as well, which was extremely simple and straight forward to follow. I really do recommend it. It worked for me (and I whipped out a blank disk so fast afterwards I don't think even the computer knew what hit it). :P

the files are now recovered
THANK GOD
i've tried some of them and they worked fine
they are about 11 GB
i will have to check the integrity of all of it
but this will take time

anyway i used GetDataBack
it's a bit stupid at some stage ( it recommends a certain block and it doesn't work)
anyway i chose another block and it worked

i'll inform you guys when i make sure data is intact

Thanks for all who tried to help
