Really dont need the RAM but I am at 1.5GB right now and would like to expand up to 2.5, my motherboard can handle to 4GB.

As far as the products I listed, I know there are some PRO's...any of you have some issues with them... I am about to do the buy here very soon.

Would like some input on them. This of course would be my last upgrade for my 939 socket. And I am on a budget.

Current specs:

AMD 3200+
1.5 GB Ram
380WATT PSU
5200FX PCI Graphics Card
Stock cooling
Running Vista Ultimate

My goal is a better running system to be able to transcode video and mulit task greater.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!:D

well if you do not overclock 2.2 ghz might be too slow. i have a 2.4 ghz quad core sometimes it is too slow at loading or process not fast enough. i definitly have no problem doing crazy multitasking but if i have a 3.0ghz would be faster at loading certain applications

Yeah Quad-Core is overkill for me right now. Just my single core 3200+ is getting too much work in Vista. My temps are in the 50C right now and my unit is about 75%CPU. I need something thats going to handle it better and cooler.

More input?

well all i was saying is that the processor u wanted is too slow. AMD's duo cores are wayy too slow. although, AMD's quad core is way better than intel's though

Going from your 3200 2.0 to a X2 4200 2.2 you will notice a difference, especially if your running more than one thing. I would go with a different brand ram but since your mixing it with other ram it doesnt really matter.

73 bucks for a X2 4200s not bad if you want to make your 939 last alittle longer. If your updating now there no point going with AM2 since the new Phenom X4 and Kuma X2 AM2+ are coming out later this year.

AM2+ are going to work on AM2 boards... but i would just get a 4200 or 4400. I got the 4200+ skt 393 upgrading from a 3700+ and it made a major difference.

AM2+ will work on a AM2 board if they supply a bios update but you lose the new Hypertransport, the new PCIe interface, and the new split voltage planes.
