Help Me!!! Pc Starts In Dos!!!

I installed Half life one on my pc b4 i play the second one and now my PC starts in dos. I uninstalled it and it stilll starts in dos. I have ME and it starts up with all icons massive so i assume it is dos.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
 
No what I think has happened is your screen resolution is too high probably like 800x600 or 640x540 or something anyway try this

Right click on the desktop and click properties
Then do this
Click the settings tab
There is a slider tab called "Screen Resolution"
drag it right until you see the numbers by 1024 by 768 pixels then click apply. If this is too big then set it until it's just right for you.
 
Please let me know if this worked so I can give you other troubleshooting advice.
I'm pretty sure this is the problem
