help me pick my ram

hey guys i am starting to put together a computer, and i would like 2-4gbs of ram, what brands are good and which ones would you stay away from? im trying to stay under 100 on the ram thanks

sry i left out the hdd as well, i would like a 500 gb, something that will not have problems, not sure on the price range here, i want to buy something that will not die on me
