Help me start my website? I am a noob.

I just registered my first domain name with no-ip.com and I am trying to get started. It says I need to port forward, but I can't. I go to my router settings via my default gateway, and when I try to port forward to the domains IP I get this message, "Server IP address must be LAN IP address." Obviously this is a problem because forwarding port 80 on my IP is useless. It has to be the hosts IP. Then it redirects me back to port forwarding. I am using a NETGEAR N600 wireless router, model WNDR3400. Can someone please help me out? Thanks.

Create a static IP address on the local computer hosting your website.
Log into your router and forward on requests on port 80 to your local computer's IP address.

Example: I create a local static IP address of 192.168.1.7 on my local computer hosting my website. Now I go into the router and forward all incoming requests on port 80 to 192.168.1.7

Do you have a static IP address from your ISP? If not, you will have to set up dynamic dns and link your router to the ddns service.
