help me stop getting busted!

guys I have never been declared a genius so bare with me.
when I try to type in any web site in my address bar , as soon as I put the first W in - then a panel drops down and shows every place I have visited that starts with a W.
well that is not so bad , but one of them is a porn site and it just will not go away! I clear history and have it set on 0 days.
I delete files etc. and still it is there !
It is not in my favorites , etc.

so how do I get rid of that thing , or perhaps the whole drop down window?
I have windows XP Thanks

Try downloading a different browser such as netscape or firefox. Oh and are you sure its the adress bar, because you could be thinking of a search engine bar.

are you using internet explorer?

If you are using internet explorer you can always reinstall it

yes it is the address bar and yes i am useing internet explorer.

window pops down under the address bar showing everywhere i have been and one place i have not been , but is always in that group.

also download Adaware (google for this) and run from time to time, clears off all sorts of spyware and other related crud

It's just the autocomplete funtion within IE doing it's job, it takes 5 seconds to disable it.

Except this isn't spyware related.

use a cleaner, it will do it and also get all your temp files as well. I use CCleaner . Fast and easy...

I would say download firefox, because not only can you get rid of it, but you can also get a better browser, btw, when you download it, don't transfer all data from internet explorer.
You probably have been in that place though. Maybe a pop up you closed without letting it load, so you dont know what it is...whatever it is, get firefox

i deleted all the history, cookies. etc/ but i only went away wen i restarted my computer...hmm

if you want to remove all traces of porn sites and other things you could get in trouble for use evidence eliminator. It goes through your computer and perminantly deletes your internet tracks (note: once the files have been deleted they cannot be recovered!!)
