Ok here is my problem. i built my own computer, and ever since i put it together it has been crashing. i had the computer for like 6 months now and i keep on putting this crash thing down.. and didnt care about it. cuz i thought it just might be a vista problem.. i have vista 64 bit edition. but idk i think its hardware thats going bad or something in my computer. on a average my computer has crashed 1 times a day. sometimes it has crashed 4 or 5 in one day.. just depends how long i stay on it. when i let my computer stay idle and it goes in sleep or hibernation the computer crashes alittle bit afterwards too. ok i will tell you in order of what happens and with pictures....

1. this message pops up says DLL Module Loader has stoped working. and usually when i exit this message my computer sometimes crashes instantly or sometimes it takes a hour or 2 to crash after i close this message. here is pic.

2. here is the "blue screen" or crash that occurs. down at the bottom it says Dumping physical memory to disk: then it loads from 0 all the way to 100 takes about 10 seconds then windows restarts.

3. Now this is a black screen, and it says Warning System boot fail and i have to press f1 to continue and DEL is to enter the setup which i have never did... and when i start up my computer each time i always get this black screen first, i always do f1 to continue.

Moved to desktop.

Creative has had trouble creating Vista drivers, ctaud2k.sys is part of the creative driver package. If they have an updated driver try installing it.

i downloaded the newest driver for my x-fi fatality sound blaster card, i will tell you if i have the same problem if it happens again.

Try the CD drivers, and make sure that you don't have any other old/unrelated sound drivers somewhere still installed.

I doubt an "crash" would take THAT long to happen...

Is the card Vista compatiable?

I FOUND SOMETHING!!!!! i was reading through reviews on newegg.com on this sound card and other people with vista 64bit was having troubles with it too... here is what one guy said on the review.

Pros: None

Cons: Everything. It crashes to a blue screen memory dump every time the PC boots. Creative is one of the worst companies out there. I should have known better. People with Vista beware, you'll get lots of crashing.

Other Thoughts: Horrible product.

thats exactlly what happens to me.. ugg. so a stupid sound card causing all these problems.. how gay.

do you guys know of any vista 64bit compatible sound cards?

thx for helping out oscaryu1 this card is vista compatible.. but not with 64bit.. if that makes since. and i didnt check that out when i bought it.. i thought it would work with 64 but i guess creative has had problems making a driver for this card for vista 64 bit edition. im definately going to return it.. i have to search for receit and find the box and all that junk. i think i found a good vista 64bit card tho... i never hurd of this name brand but other people said its way better then other cards. its HT OMEGA CLARO here is link too it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271002
