Do retail processors come with heatsinks? because i was gonna buy a amd 64 3700-OEM clawhammer core, but currently it's outta stock at newegg and i already got everything else ready on it.. with the OEM i was gonna buy a kingwin heatsink, so if i just bought the retail processor would i still have to buy the heatsink  i dunno much about this stuff but i've been looking to order this comp for a couple of months now and have got a lot of opinions about my choices.

Retail processors come with the stock HSF (heatsink/fan). However, many people go with an aftermarket HSF for better cooling.

Yah, for an AMD I would look into finding another HS. The intel ones are ok for stock as long as you don't OC but with the AMD even the stocks aren't that great compared to a 20-30$ new one.

Most aftermarket coolers will cool AMD procs by 8ºC no sweat. Hell even my Silentboost knocked it down 12º (course the Venus killed it by 22ºC) :D

Don't forget to bring your thermal paste!

Stock HS/Fan with Artic Silver 5 brings down the temp 3-6 degrees C.

I love it so much...
