I tried a using a .bat file for the first time, but when I tried to open it, it said that it is not a valid Win32 application. However, I have a 64-bit operating system. I don't understand what's happening here...
I run .bat files all the time on 64-bit Windows 7 systems. It just starts as a text file with commands that you normally run at a command prompt -which 64-bit Windows has no problem handling- that is renamed with the extension .bat.
Make sure you don't have .bat files associated with anything. It's default (see should be "unknown application. Properly written batch files should then have no issue.
