Ok, so the system i have is a
-amd ahtlon x2 dual core
-asus motherboard
I bought a powercolor hd 4870 1bg video card. I followed the instructions and deleted the onboard video drivers then went to my bios screen to make sure that my video output is set to PCI. Then i turned off my system and put in the new video card and everything fit in perfectly.
BUt, when i goto turn on my system the monitor does not work.....no picture is showing whatsoever....not even for a second. But, the computer is up and running and the video card fan is spinning.....so i know the video card is being powered to an extent.
I spent all night yesterday on google trying to figure out a solution and figure what im doing wrong.......but im not doing anything wrong!!!! I even tried installing the new cards drivers first then manually put in the video card and still does not work
The only thing i can think of is that my psu is only a 250watt and the video card requires 500watt. But, when i researched this on google there are many people claiming that a 250w psu can support a 500w video card....it might not be good for the system but it should work.....but i keep getting a blank screen.
any help is appreciated!!
