*Help* Montior Will Not Wake Up!

Hey,

So I was using my recently build computer (see sig) then I went up stairs to get ready, when I came back the computer had gone to sleep, so I tried to move the mouse to wake it up, but it would not! I tried turning off the computer and turning it back on, but still nothing. The orange stand by light on my monitor (LG Flatron L1919S) is on. There is no problems with the monitor as I hooked it up to my brothers laptop and it worked fine.(which I am typing this on now).

Oh, forget to mention that the computer appears to be in proper working order (everything looks and sounds as usual).

I was just reading a thread on some forum, and a person was having this EXACT same problem, and what they did to fix it was replace the motherboard. Is this what I have to do??? (I hope NOT!!!)

Does anyone have any advice, because as of now my computer is useless without the monitor working...

Thanks in advance,
Dylan

Um, it could be the video card.

That's kinda what happened to me, I was playing a video game and my monitor went black, so I restarted my computer, still was black. I took the monitor hooked it up to my sisters comp and it worked. I took out the video card and used the on-board one. It worked fine so I came to the conclusion that it was my video card.

What O/S ya using?

I had that problem with my Windows 7 RC - and ended up having to turn off the sleep function in order to resolve the problem. No sleeps for PC - but screensaver gives my monitor a nap when it's tired.
