HELP! need laptop for college!

Hello I am looking for laptop for college, it doasnt really have to be anything over the top i just want planty of hdd space to save all of my school work and of course i want it to be pretty fast but it doasnt have to be crazy fast or anything. my budget is around $800. What operating system do u guys suggest i use? Im not that computer savey when it comes to specs and all that i might want to be able to run one game..maybe but idk. your alls help would be great think you
 
You can get a great deal with Dell laptops now.

Lenovos are also good. Try customizing laptops form HP, Dell, Lenovo, Sony, ect, to see what looks the best for you.

Vista has no real benefits over Xp. If you don't have an XP key, just about all laptops will be configured with at least Vista Basic, which will do everything you need it to do. Make sure the laptop you want has 2GB of memory, and some core 2 duo processor is recommended.

well i would perfer a small screen but 15.4 in isnt to big i dont think but i would probley perfer a 12 or so in. but i will deff. look in on the toshiba. how is the battery life on yours??
 
hmmmm. i have it currently set to balanced. (power saver and performance are the others)

and it lasts around 2-3 hours.
