before i begin, i will clarify that i am obviously not using the computer in question to post this. anyway... i have a pretty old computer i use for gaming, and i want to connect it to the internet. unfortunately, i only know how to connect wi-fi, and this desktop has no wi-fi capabilities. if thats not clear enough, ill explain: i know how to connect the laptop im using now (ASUS EEE PC) to the web, but i cant seem to get the pc to join the network im using. im running the connection off a linksys on a different pc in the house. the computer im trying to connect is using windows xp ver 2002 (told you it was old). i have absolutely no idea how to connect it to the network im on. please keep in mind i cant remember acronyms for crap, so dont abbreviate anything.
wait, no, thats not right. it says i can set up a wireless network, but i want to join one. sorry for confusion.

Does the desktop PC your trying to connect have an Ethernet plug? If it does connect an Ethernet network cable from your router to that PC and you should have Internet on your PC. If not you'll probably have to get a PCI Ethernet adapter or a PCI wifi adapter to connect it to your Internet.
