help needed with laptop coolers

thanks for the advice so far. I was looking at those links that were provided and some of the comments say they are only good for laptops which suck in air from the base.... and not those who expel air that way.

Does anyone know which one I have? I know it sounds a stupid question but I'm at work and don't have the laptop in front of me.

thanks again

I have no idea.
May be turn on your laptop, put your hand under the fan and feel it??

Also, you could consider cooling mat if you don't want fan. They are relativly eaiser to carry around

I dont think it matter, it just keeps the laptop from resting on your leg so it doesnt get too hot as its not sucking or blowing your pants (sounds rude!)

The Achilles' heel of laptop technology is the overheating problem which drastically affects its performance and in some cases leads to system failure. A laptop cooling pad is an external solution to this problem of heating.

Cooling a laptop can be effectively done using a notebook cooling pad and there are companies that offer a variety of solution for laptop's warming problem just like using uhmm,. a lap desk perhaps..Great idea,..since it is really uncomfortable for the lap..but besides that (cooling pad) following are the ways which will cool it even more.

* Clean up the laptop cooling fan and laptop cooling vent regularly.
* Use a laptop cooling stand that elevates your laptop, giving it breathing space and ventilation on the downside.
* Select low power usage settings on the laptop to reduce power usage and thereby reduce heat generation.

if you are interested, you can check out http://www.ilapdesk.com ..they are doing shipments all over including UK..so you don't have to worry ;)

Hope you find this useful.,...take care and have a nice day :)

I bought a Targus Lap Chill Mat it has dual fans uses USB from laptop for it's power, is quiet and fits up to 17". Bought it at Best Buy for $39 US. I have it under my ASUS i7 G73hj.

I have also have a H.P. Pavilion i3 dv6, I don't feel it get hot at all, but it can't hurt to have a cooling pad under it.;)
