Ok,

Problem: When I power on my computer the fans start, the hardisk spins, but doesn't seem to boot. Everything looks normal except nothing loads on the moniter. I've tried to soft-reset it by unplugging the power cable and letting it sit, but hasn't worked. I also tried the moniter cables, but they work on my other computer. I thought it may be loose so i unpluggd and repluggd and still no good. Now, this problem started when i had the computer on hiebernate and pluggd in my ipod before starting it back up. It tried to boot from the ipod. When it couldn't it showed an error, so I unpluggd the ipod but it still didnt work. I turned off the computer to let it sit and try again, but nothing and then i tried all the above and still no good.

I have a Gateway GT series. I'm not sure what you guys need to help solve this, but please ask. This is urgent, thanks.

try resetting the cmos. Open your computer. On the motherboard you well see this round sliver battery. It should be 3/4 inches in diameter. disconnect the power and take the battery out for 1 minute min. put the battery back and try to power up again

Vista is having tons of problems with hibernate, just do a quick google search and you will find that there are a lot of people pissed off about it.

Most of the recommendations are to just disable hibernate.

Glad you have your system back, but you might want to turn hibernate off.
