help new build shuts off

i am working on my next computer but the problem is when i turn it on it doesnt stay on for long its brand new i just put it together today any idea what i may have done wrong?

Okay, did the case come with standoff's pre installed? if you screwed the motherboard directly that means it is shorting out.

They go into the holes in the case where the motherboard goes.

The other problem could be your powersupply, but it brand new. what brand, wattage and amperage does it have, along with the rest of your system specs?

oh i forgot and motherboard is evga 750i ftw motherboard and theres a thing on my case that says SPEAKER on it i dont know where to put it the book isnt saying where that goes it says speaker but not where that thing goes i dont understand it right now as to why its not telling me if theres a connector for it

do you any of you guys think that if if you dont line up the power led and power switch and reset and hd in the right place that could cause this short i had cuz i tried to line them up with the colors that nearly matched but i realized my case had different color wires then what i expected so i just looked in the motherboard manual and it showed that power switch was toward the upper right side of motherboard and reset was below it and hd led was left of reset and power led - + i put to the upper part of HD LED just now so i have it lined up like this power led -+ Power Switch
hd led +- Reset but i have resets dark color facing the same direction as hd led and power switch dark color is facing the same direction as power led as illustrated here the colors are weird with my leds and stuff

i too the puter to the shop just got it back anyways i got a off topic question but i will possibly post in another section umm thanks everybody i think i did something wrong when i put it together they rebuilt it for me at the computer shop
