Hey folks, my pc was subjected to a lot of power shut downs recently until, the last time, after the electricity went off and on, i tried to turn it on, and to my surprise it didnt boot. the only thing that runs is the fans of the PSU, the CPU and the graphic card. nothing is displayed on the screen as if no signal is making it there. and the harddisk doesnt start either. what could be the problem?
and the computer can't be turned off by long pressing on the power button, and nothing happens if i press the restart button. the only things working are the 3 fans :S

Howdy,

Unfortunately your system may have suffered a death by PSU fault, it appears to be quite a common occurence and it can happen when voltages fluctuate as most PSU's don't have voltage control. I've seen the same symptoms and I was told it was a total write-off, but the CD-ROM, HDD & GPU etc may still be intact, RAM, PSU, board & CPU are toast methinks.:(

If you had power failures prior to this problem, I suspect a PSU issue. If there's some way to replace it and test some other PSU in the system, that'd be a good starting point. Typically, when a PSU goes out, the rest of the system's fine, but I have seen otherwise...

Its a crappy PSU that i got with a cheap case, i will try unother psu and see if it solves the prob, thx for ur help.
