a few weeks ago i posted about getting a G TX 460 1GB version. well i did get it. i got the double fan Gigabyte GTX 460.

i ran a few temp stress test with FurMark and for about 10 min and it gets hot as 69*C-73*C and on the average FPS is about 88.

now some people told me the GTX 460 1GB are great for OCing, and told me to get one of these 2 programs
MSI Afterburner
EVGA Precision.

only thing is i dont know how to use them and i dont know which is better.

right now on MSI Afterburner and EVGA Precision my options are
Core Clock (MHz): 715
Shader (MHz): 1430 (note both Core and Shader are both lock to each other so if i move one it moves the other.

Memory Clock (MHz): 1800

and on MSI Afterburner the Core Voltage (mV) is locked

1) i find msi afterburner to be extremely easy to use. i haven't used evga precision personally so i won't say use this one or that one, but just know once you get used to msi, it is a very nice tool.
2) in msi, to enable the voltage you need to select "settings" (lower right hand corner of the window with the sliders). then, under the general tab, select "unlock voltage control" and "unlock voltage monitoring" and click ok.

i have never used a 460 so i am not sure about what settings are good ones to shoot for but i will sat that you don't want to rush it. be patient. if you just start ramping things up, you can do some damage to your card.

In Afterburner, click settings, then check "Unlock voltage control" and "Unlock voltage monitoring"

And try the following settings:

Core: 800Mhz (shader will be locked at 1600mhz)

Memory: 2000mhz

Voltage: 1012mV (1.012v)

Click apply, then run Furmark or Kombustor (which comes with afterburner)

If everything is stable, you save the profile and click "Apply overclocking at system startup" - this will apply the settings in afterburner when you logon to the computer.
