Help on a aspect possible hacking?

Hey all i'm new and not sure were to post this but just wondered what you thought about this.

Okay we set up a wireless network got this code you have to type in to connect to it, and well basically the last three days the main pc has been switching itself on at roughly 6am, didn't happen before now my gut instinct is that someones hcked in. But i wanted to see what people thought about this and best course of action.

unless you have your client set to reboot once a day at that time. Plus routers can even control this function over ethernet, however I doubt your router supports that function since it is probably consumer level.

If it happens every day at exactly 6am, sounds to me its a task the client is set to do. Hard to say if someone "hacked" you, plus not to sound rude, but what would a hacker benefit from hacking you? I suppose it could be a mischevious kid, but those kids are hardly hackers and there should be traces of their entry somewhere.

I can only assume you are running windows. Try checking out the event viewer first to see what the logs are saying. Also, check your router logs if you have that enabled.
