hey guys i'm trying to burn some episodes of 24 that i downloaded to some dvd's for my friend. i've been using nero 6 with nero vision express cuz the files are in avi format. i'm running into trouble however in the final result cuz when i play it on a dvd player, the video would be fine at first, but then there would be a big lag between the video and the audio so you hear the sound first and then you see the lips moving. quite funny actually but its very annoying. can anyone help me fix that? thanx

Find a program that will convert your avi file to dvd. After the conversion then burn it with nero. I use a program called Cucusoft avi to dvd, it takes forever though.

i use something like ultra dvd
they still do not come out perfect
will the avi file play on your pc ok, just when they are burnt to a cd
I have a bunch of avi movies and they play great burnt to CD media.

oh wait you are burning to dvd, right ?
try a cd , see how it does, could be your burner or media ( dvd that is) if the cd's work ok.

i've tried it on cd's and it still does the same thing. does anyone know if there is anyway i can convert my avi files into iso files?

i've had the SAME problem and it bugs me to death, espically it happens around the middle of the video. When encoding using Nero Vision my CPU runs at 100% so maybe that could be the problem. mulit-tasking while encoding?
who knows

i dont think its because of running at 100% cuz my cpu doesnt run at 100% when encoding at least not that i kno of. also i have 2 gb of ram so i'm pretty sure thats not the problem

1. how do the avi files play native in windows from a file, NOT on a cd or dvd ?

2. have you played the avi that is on the cd or dvd on another PC ?

nero 7 ultra does everything for me, from AVI to burn.
definitely a worthwhile program :)

Nero usually does it all but he said he is having a lag between the video and audio. I have had this problem myself and I used Cucusoft avi to dvd to do the converting instead of nero because obvoiusly something went wrong in the conversion with nero.

is cucusoft shareware? or do i have to buy it...it seems to me that i would have to buy it. and i dont want to spend any money on this so if there are any other programs that are shareware plz let me know.
to answer viking's question, the avi does play normally on the pc but its the dvd that has the problem.

what is your cpu usage, with nothing running at all. ? it should be zero to 3-4-5 %. If it is high, you could have an unwanted gust running in the background or a broken program that refusses to et go of resources. Click the processes tab and see if there is a process using a great deal. Cpu idle process should be about 98%

ok now i have another question for those of you that know what your doing. i got a video converter, and i've converted those files from .avi to .vob hoping that i can then use nero and burn them on a dvd. i tried however afterwards and it didn't work. for some reason it says that the folder video_ts can only take .iso and all these other files and .vob was one of them. i am just wondering...is it the software that is corrupted? cuz that maybe possible because i did not actually buy the software i bit torrent it off some website. or is it because there is something that i missed. any other suggestions on how to fix the video and audio lag would also be greatly appreciated
