Help out a newb...

Ok, so my question is, if I buy a laptop, will i be able to upgrade any of the hardware (processor, graphics card, RAM...) later on? I've heard both that is is possible and that it depends on the laptop. And if it is possible, would it be difficult. I have upgraded a few components on my desktop, but not so sure about laptops. Thanks for any help!!

You can upgrade RAM easily...others are more difficult to upgrade.

Most laptops do not have an option to upgrade your video card... you are likely to be able to upgrade the memory and hard drive... maybe the processor.

You can upgrade the CPU, but you might have to take apart your whole laptop.

^ Agreed. While some laptop CPU's are non-touchable, there are many that can be replaced, provided you have the know-how to take the system apart and not have any random screws once it's put back together
