I did what the guy said to do in the post with the bios config.

http://www.computerforum.com/218725-help-me-choose-upgrades-my-pc-2.html

Half way down the page.

Worked great for two months, now, after a few minutes of cod, pc turns itself off.

I put a fan on top of it with the side case cracked open, and it stops it from turning off, if its cool enough already outside(Comp is right next to window, window open, fan on top of case shooting outside, cooler air in)

Nighttime it works fine(colder at night then day)

But when summer hits, I know for a fact my pc will not work. If it gets above 50 deg F here, its just not cool enough to keep my pc on.

I went into msconfig, boot, advanced option, to see if all four cores were on, and it shows me only two cores are on, with the option of only using two cores. Also in core temp it only shows two cores.

Did I burn out a core? Did I do something wrong? BTW Just cleaned all heatsinks/case of dust today, and its been running fine. Also my fans work still. Heres a screenshot of my core temp page. Why doesnt it show me to degrees of my core?

Specs (Custom build)

GA-770TA-UD3
AMD Phenom IIx2 550 processor (2cpus) 3.1ghz(I think its oced to 3.5? I really dont know, it says 3.5 in core temp that I included pic of)
4gb ram
nvidia 9800 gt
Raidmax Smilodon Mid-tower ATX Case
530w psu

Am I doing something wrong? A newbie mistake? I decieded to open the fourth core, in leiu of upgrading my pc, because money is VERY tight.

Also wanted to note, no error beeps on startup. And if I turn it on before waiting a minute or two, the computer will turn itself back off immeditly, Which leads me to believe overheating.

What is the PSU? I have heard of PSUs overheating, especially if they are cheap. But, if you are using the stock cooler, it could be overheating. Download a program called Realtemp and Prime95, run Prime95 on blend then open Realtemp and post a screenshot a couple minutes into Prime95 with both the programs open.
